I am about to purchase a permanent pier on which to mount my NYX-101.
My question is, what type of adapter will I need to connect the mount to the pier?
Can I use the EQ-6 adapter plate? Is there a schematic that I can sent do a pier manufacturer that shows mounting holes so they can fabricate an adapter?
Any other solution?
Adapter Plate for permanent Pier?
Re: Adapter Plate for permanent Pier?
Hi
I have a Geoptik pier (and a Hercules tripod as well).
I managed to install the NYX pretty easily using the EQ6 adapter.
On the pier, I found that the EQ5 plate adapter from Geoptik was even easier to use.
I purchased 2 sets of pier extensions from Pegasus but I found there were not needed in my scenarios.
A friend f mine tried the same on a Sky-Watcher pier, but was less successful because the plate adapters didn’t fit without serious mechanical adaptations.
Hope this helps.
