Humidity sensor stuck at 99%

Post by dan1984 »

For a while now I've noticed the hum. sensor to be stuck at 99%. Any idea how to remedy this? I also have a Lunatico Weather Station that correctly reports the temperature and humidity .. is the a way to tell UPv2 to get the data from the Weather Station?
Thanks

The sensor is broken. If you get 99% there is no communication with the sensor

Hello
I have the same behavior here.
I’m wondering if the sensor is really dead.
In effect, the sensor does read temperature correctly, and humidity reads also well below 99% for some time, maybe one hour, then rises quickly to 99% and sticks there all night through.

However, the humidity reading at the beginning is off in excess of 20-25% compared to a calibrated MGBox v2.

I’m thus wondering wether it is really the sensor that is fried, or it is simply because it looses/lost calibration (assuming it can be calibrated in a way or another).

I have ordered a replacement anyway. I’d hate ruining it again. What do you recommend to protect it during the night (it can become really wet during the night at my location) ?

Thanks

I am afraid it is dead and cannot be calibrated.

I am sorry to say that I have the same issue.
The sensor worked alright for a while.
Then got stuck at 99%
I replaced it at cost.
The new sensor showed the same behavior after a few weeks.
When I take the UPBv2 in the house, it starts working again.
My UPBv2 sits on my telescope in my dome and is never been touched or manipulated that could damage it.
Fortunately I have other equipment that does indicate RH for many years without a single issue.
e.g. the MGP-box
The UPBv2 is a great device. That sensor is less great. . .
