Supported USB connections - PBA vs Unity

I’m using an ASIAIR Pro and a Powerbox Advance V1 in my configuration and I would like to use Unity to look at the power draw during use however I’m unable to get Unity to connect to the PPBA in operation. I suspect the problem may be the USB-B port is occupied by the ASIAIR so my only option is to use one of the USB-A ports to connect my laptop running Unity to the PBA.
Unity doesn’t seem to see or detect the PBA at all. Is this a supported connection setup or must the connection be via the USB-B? I’m hoping not the latter as that would make it impossible to measure the power draw in the actual configuration I use.
Appreciate any insights folks can offer.
