Unity UI is not usable - how to fix this?

How do I fix this layout?

Note the dashboard "indicators" are just not usable. I have no idea what the actual value is -- the graphic is blotting out the text!
The old UPBV2 "dashboard" and it was just way better.
I realize there's a desire to integrate all the products into a single "platform", but this has been a step backwards. Really, imo the previous non-unity UI was problem free.
Apologies for being so critical -- I'm a software developer and I realize the effort that goes into building an application like this.
Let me know if there's a config file somewhere or some config where I can fix the layout, or preferably customize the layout.
