Indigo filter wheel control

Post by ArieDome29 »

Since a few days my Indigo wheel plays up on me.
When I go from after initialisation pos1 straight to pos 7 it runs 7 1/2 slots.
Every other filter selection there after sits in-between filters.
Unless I initialize again.
I am advised to upgrade the firmware of the wheel, but nowhere I can find the info on how to this.
Unity tells me the FW is 1.3.
When in unity I press update, nothing seems to happen.

Most likely this is another issue caused by the most recent windows update.
Like having to install a adapted version of Unity, because that didn't even start anymore.
Thanks to the team this was fixed rapidly.

Anybody with the same experience with the Indigo?
How did you fix it?
As for now the wheel is totally unusable.
It did function ok for as long as I have it.

I think I have it fixed.
I suspect that the drive wheel wasn't properly aligned with the carousel.
Being slightly skewed, it did not follow the correct path (groove in the carousel) and build up tension, that was released after the wheel was stopped, pushing the carousel to overshoot.
Anyway, it seems to be working ok again.
So not a software issue, but mechanical.
The adjustment of the position of the little drive wheel appears to be very critical.
