Indi support for upcoming Uranus meteo sensor

Post by dolguldur »

Dear all,

I am in the process of building a fully automated observatory, along with some pretty heavy (for me) software development to power it to its full capability. In particular, I use Indi to discuss with my various devices, and I was particularly impressed by the UPBv2 I bought recently, I literally fell in love with the hardware and the features packed in this amazing device, its reliability and robustness.

Recently stumbled across for Uranus meteo sensor, and I feel it could be a very important part of my setup in the future, as I am planning on logging as much informations as I can for later analysis along with guiding/fwhm statistics and SNR in particular + the fact that it connects directly to upbv2 (which itself directly connects to my main control unit) makes it very appealing as a more robust system + saving on cables/network complexity.

However, I didn't saw that an indi driver was planned for the uranus meteo sensor  is it going to be an addition to the current indi panel for upbv2 ?

Is it planned in the future to have an individual driver for this single device only ?

Thank you in advance for your help

I've just received my Uranus Meteo Sensor, but I can't find the INDI driver anywhere. Running the latest KStars 3.6.1 with INDI 1.9.8.
Could you point me to the right driver please?

Thanks, Willem Jan.

Driver should be here:
https://github.com/indilib/indi/tree/ma ... /auxiliary
Check for file starting with pegasus_*

Or eventually here: https://github.com/indilib/indi/tree/ma ... rs/weather

Nothing in the 3rd-party repository, either, so right now there doesn't seems to be any indi driver for the uranus meteo sensor. I won't buy the product if I cannot use it unfortunately. @Any Pegasus person, do you have any release date for the indi driver ?
Thank you in advance

On a bright note, I see that a driver for the prodigy has just recently been released:
https://github.com/indilib/indi/blob/d9 ... yMF.cpp#L1

Author seems to be Chrysikos Efstathios, lot of thanks to him for the job he is doing

Pegasus Customer Service came back to me. INDI driver is in the making, but will take several weeks yet to be released.

Any update ? I am genuinely interested even though it will eat up one additional usb port from my upbv2 (it was initially announced with ext port).

The current INDI driver is of not much use. The readout values are incorrect, and some are missing. An update is being worked on, but unclear when this will be available. See this thread for details:
