derotation support for alt-az mount
derotation support for alt-az mount
Hi,
Is the field derotation support for alt-az still work in progress? Or, is it now supported? I don't see anything about it in the stand-alone control software. If it's not there, how am I supposed to turn on the field derotation ?
Thank you

You have to click the arrow at the bottom right to expand the window for the derotation calculation functionality

Re: derotation support for alt-az mount
Hi,
I use KStars on a PI4 and Stellarmate (Linux, INDI).
I want to use the Falcon Rotator for Derotaion.
After the latest Updates there is still only one field to add a value in milliseconds for Derotation.
How do I calculate this Value ?
I hoped there would be a more comfortable way for this task meanwhile.
Best Regards,
Alexander

Derotation feature for the indilib driver is not supported yet.
We are working to have it ready soon.
The calcualtion of the "rate of rotation" requires communication with your mount so it is hard to calculate this value by yourself.
Hopefully we'll have it ready soon.

Derotation is fully supported in Windows.
Please check some photos from one for one of our customers who uses the Falcon Rotator with derotation on a Dob 24''.

Unfortunatelly Indilib does not have derotation support yet. We are working on that but it will take a couple of months.

Hi Evan
I know that you have mentioned that derotation is still not implemented in INDI. I am fairly new to INDI and C++, but I am willing to help since I do need this feature too. So, I would appreciate if you could point me in the right direction
Cheers,
Pedram

Joined just to say I would like this feature. I don't like having to use Windows just to get a core feature of the device. A Raspberry Pi is much more portable and efficient and I'm disappointed this hasn't been prioritised.
