Re: UPBv2: Question about displaying a red arrow
Yes, I have similar reports about this Planeware unit.
Probably a large capacitor inside Planewave's unit draws lots of current on startup and triggers the UPBv2 current protection.
You can ignore it for now

Re: UPBv2: Software crashes due to memeory leak
The firmware has nothing to do with the USB connecivity and how the USB Hub works.
Memory leak has been fully fixed in upcoming version 1.4.7. Memory should be less than 50Mb by the end of night.

Re: How to make dew heaters stay on in standalone mode
I'm afraid this is not possible with current firmware.
It is advised to use auto-dew and let the sensor do the rest.
I noted your request as a feature request for future firmware releases.

Re: Multiple Rotators
Each rotator has a unique id and spawn a different com port. Although, it requires some development work in standalone application to let you select each rotator

It depends of which driver you install.
The USB drvers are only for the discovery of the device.

Indeed, it is related as it reads and converts a wrong value as it believes that it is connected to another model.

Idle current draw is less than 0.06Amps.
Can you please send me a photo of what you see?
Either the current meter is off and requires recalibration or something leaks (well.. consumes) power.
