Re: How to achieve guiding setup and operation. version 3 edited 2023/11/04
Hi Many thanks for sharing your experience here. I purchased a NYX about a month ago but the sky was decidedly not cooperating. I suspected DEC balance to be a critical point. I will proceed using the second approach you mentioned, ie balancing on another mount, marking the center on the dovetail, a...

Re: Adapter Plate for permanent Pier?
Hi I have a Geoptik pier (and a Hercules tripod as well). I managed to install the NYX pretty easily using the EQ6 adapter. On the pier, I found that the EQ5 plate adapter from Geoptik was even easier to use. I purchased 2 sets of pier extensions from Pegasus but I found there were not needed in my ...

Re: Calibrating the environmental sensor
Hi
Maybe the sensor is broken.
But that doesn’t give the answer about calibration in Unity.
Any updates in this regard?
Thanks and regards.

Re: Humidity sensor stuck at 99%
Hello I have the same behavior here. I’m wondering if the sensor is really dead. In effect, the sensor does read temperature correctly, and humidity reads also well below 99% for some time, maybe one hour, then rises quickly to 99% and sticks there all night through. However, the humidity reading at...

Re: Strong banding on FM150 under 2.5s
Hi
Same issue here - the solution is I believe, to increase the shot duration, at least to 3 seconds or more.
You can play with the brightness to achieve this for LRGB filters - it also depends on your scope aperture.

Unity - clearly display scheduled tasks
Hello
Although a running task has a different display from the others, it is difficult for me, being color-blind, to see it well.
I would suggest having a clear text displayed on the dashboard panel stating something like “task <name> is running”.
Thanks in advance.
Rodolphe

UPB v2 not recognized by Unity v 1.8.1680.2 ???
Just updated Unity to version 1.8.1680.2.
UPB v2 not recognized. Was working before the update...
The "old" legacy UPBV2 software does recognize it and connects successfully to it.
How can I fix that?
Thanks

Unity - GUI improvement request
Hello I like the idea of a single app to manage the various physical devices, especially in conjunction with the UPBv2. Unity does that quite well. Howver, I believe the GUI could benefit from some improvements, such as the ability to resize the main window nicely, rearrange the panels, etc. Themes ...

Responding to myself, for the benefit of others.
I've just replaced the USB3 cable with a shielded USB3 cable, and... it solved the problem!

USB3 and Wifi interferences - root cause analysis
Hello everyone, After experiencing multiple unexplained wifi disconnections in the field, I believe I have norrowed down the root cause of my problems. My setup: * UPBv2, NUC connected to the UPBv2 through USB3, the NUC is positioned and attached to the UPB, both tied up on top the the OTA. * The ca...

Unity GUI - color blindness
Hello
Would be great to have an option to change the "red" color of the graph lines.
It's hardly readable/visible for a guy like me, with strong deficiency in red perception.
Thanks!

Unity and SGP (Observing conditions) - no data
Hi I'm wondering why observing conditions data don't show up in SGP. I use "Pegasus Astro Observing conditions" as the driver for Environment in SGP; then connect to it (message box displaying "Driver compatible with UPB, UPBv2..." shows up). The SGP environment panel displays no...

Re: [SOLVED] UPBv2 - USB3 Moravian C2-2600 not recognized
Hello again I had an interesting conversation with Pegasus. The always on port delivers more amps than the switchable ones. In my case it didn’t work as expected. I changed the Power Supply (PS) ito another one delivering more than 20A, it’s a radio HAM model. It’s indeed overkill for the job at han...

Re: [SOLVED] UPBv2 - USB3 Moravian C2-2600 not recognized
Responding to myself; it could be useful to others as well. I eventually found that, with my setup, the ALWAYS ON power supply socket seemed not to deliver enough power to the NUC connected to it, not enough to load the USB3 drivers. I then connected the NUC to one of the switchable power outputs - ...

Re: UPBv2 - USB3 Moravian C2-2600 not recognized
I've replaced the cable running from the UPB to the imaging PC, using the one provided by Pegasus, to no avail.
One thing I found curious: the FTDI driver is registered as an USB 2 device, not USB 3, see screenshot below - could it be the source of the problem?

Re: UPBv2 - USB3 Moravian C2-2600 not recognized
Hello I continued experimenting to narrow down what could be going wrong. The USB 2 ports seem to work as expected: all I could connect there was properly recognized by the imaging PC through the UPB: * USB3.1 key * USB3 CMOS camera * USB2 guider camera But, of course, all operating at USB2 speed Th...

Re: USB hub doesn't work with USB 3.0 cables
Hi I have exactly the same issues with the UPBv2 and came to the same conclusion: to me the USB3 hub part is not functional; I suspect this is the same hardware for both. Would be good to receive a reply from Pegasus about it. See post I logged in the UPB forum section. Hopefully this can be resolve...

[SOLVED] UPBv2 - USB3 Moravian C2-2600 not recognized
Hello I can’t seem to have the mentioned camera recognized by Windows when connecting it to the UPB through any of the USB 3 ports. When connected directly to the PC, it works as expected. I checked all I could, used different and short (0.8 m) USB3 certified cables even those sold by Pegasus Astro,...
