If the cabling is correct, the motor probably draws too much current and the driver can’t drive it. Check the motor spec.

A few shots in the dark: USB3 is notoriously noisy in the 2.4 GHz range. If you are connected over WiFi, this can create enough interference to brown out the connection. Is there any way to upgrade the UPBv2 firmware from a Linux ? Worst case from a Mac ? I haven’t owned a Windows PC in 25 years.

If not possible (yet), is there at least a plan to enable that capability in the future ?
