Re: Bad Forum if this is for support

Expecting a reply in less than 72 hours over a weekend is unfair.

Re: USM3 cable length limits

I have seen that table already on the PegasusAstro cable management page... https://pegasusastro.com/cable-management-recommendations-for-an-astrophotography-setup/ ... The sections following the table discuss cable extenders and powered hubs for USB3. While not explicitly stated, does the use of a ...

USM3 cable length limits

I have a 36 MP QHY CMOS camera with USB 3 output. My preferred route is for the camera output to go to the USB Control Hub (UCH) as it eliminates one USB cable through the mount. Routing the camera output via a 1m USB3 cable to the UCH, then a 1m cable to a powered USB 3 hub, and finally a 5m USB ex...

Re: Mounting the usb hub

L-Com has a wide variety of USB cables in standards lengths of 0.3 m, 0.5, 0.75, 2, 3, and 5m. The standard lengths are reasonable cost. Custom lengths are also available. https://www.l-com.com/search?Level0=USB&Level1=Cable+Assemblies&view_type=grid The filter engine gets lost at times, but...

Re: Mounting the usb hub

I mounted my USB Control Hub on a PowerBox Advanced, using Pegasus brackets. Scroll to the bottom of https://pegasusastro.com/products/pocket-powerbox-advance/ You can power the hub from one of the Advanced power outputs (4 12 VDC, 1 adjustable VDC) with a DIY, very short cable. I wish I could DIY U...

Suggestion for next version of PowerBox software

I have both a PPB Advance and a Micro. The software is the same for both (also the same for original PPB). However, the title at the top of Ver 1.6 window always says Advance, even when I open both the Advance and the Micro. As near as I can tell, the only way to differentiate between the two window...

Re: Cannot connect second instance of software

This is not my experience.

I never set a COM port on the initial install of either the PPBM or the PPBA, which was installed at a later date. If I click Auto Select now, it still fails.

Re: Cannot connect second instance of software

Can this be improved in the next version of the Pegasus software? It's not very useful app, to be honest, if it cannot find the correct port on its own.

Re: Cannot connect second instance of software

Using USBVIEW, I was able to determine that, even though the Pegasus software decided that COM9 was the appropriate port, the actual connected port was COM13. I changed from 9 to 13 in Device Manager and both instances connect now. This begs the question, however, of why the Pegasus software identif...

Cannot connect second instance of software

I have both a PPB Micro and a PPB Advance. When I start up PPB software (Ver 1.16), it connects to the PPBA and functions normally. However, I cannot start and connect to the PPBM. If I try to connect via a 2nd instance, it sees the PPBM and even assigns a COM port, but when trying to connect, it ca...
