Re: NYX problem with NINA TPPA routine
The Unity program is a UI. The ASCOM drivers load automatically. I get this error message,... but then it connects and works normally. It seems to be one of those little things.

Guiding tips
I set to understanding the guiding performance on my new mount after the latest firmware update. That update improves DEC slew accuracy and permits a sensible TheSkyX TPoint model. That 50-point model confirmed the polar alignment error measured by SharpCapPro and gave me a pointing accuracy of 26&q...

Re: AltAz 3 Star Alignment Problems
I might be seeing something related to this. If you take off the scope, disable refraction correction and put a dovetail plate in the saddle. If you slew directly E or W using the N/S slew buttons, is the plate horizontal when the readout in Unity is zero degrees? I noticed something strange when I ...

Re: Better initial alignment tips
On my mount, there is still something strange with DEC slew accuracy. Even with refraction disabled, pointing E or W at zero altitude does not give me a horizontal scope. It points upwards by about a degree in both cases. I have raised a ticket. Not sure if it is just my scope or something more gene...

Better initial alignment tips
I discovered that the home position on my mount was not too well set and in particular, my DEC pointing was several degrees off. The markings on the mount body are a guide and I initially set the home position using these. They are not too far off but on the RA axis, both pairs of markings do not al...

Polar alignment methods - experiments
There are probably more polar alignment tools out there than anything else. I spent an entire night trying out different techniques. These are my conclusions so far and may be useful to others. My mount has a sinusoidal PE of ±21", very similar to that of my Rainbow RST135, just a little smooth...

Re: Unity on PC shows incorrect Environmental Conditions
I had the same question - glad I found this. The readout is rather misleading and I'm not even sure what one would use it for.

Pegasus tripod spreader plate
Just bought the Pegasus carbon fiber tripod. Mine does not have the spreader plate or central bolt (as in mount instruction manual and the web illustrations). I'm wondering if it is missing on purpose, or accidentally.
Anyone else had this?
[updated] It was missing and was subsequently sent to me.

Request for separate RA/DEC guide rates
I sold my Rainbow to buy this mount. I note that both mounts force a common guide rate for both axes. On my Rainbow it was usually the case that the RMS guide error was worse on DEC. I could improve DEC RMS by lowering the rate but then the common guide rate was too slow to keep with the rapidly cha...

Universal/EQ6 adaptor dimension query
I have my mount on order, along with a universal EQ6 adaptor. I need to get an adaptor made up for my portable pier. I have looked at the mechanical drawings but they are missing the distance of the 5 x M10 holes from the center. What diameter are they on?

Re: UPBV2 using external environment sensor request
bumping this request, I do not want a third replacement - the external sensor used for the UPBV2 is its weakest link - there are so many other devices that share their data through ASCOMObservingConditions that it would be preferable to discard this sensor altogether. What are your thoughts?

Re: Unity Program not Loading
Mine has seemingly come up blank too - but the server is running and I can connect through ASCOM still.
When I look at Task Manager, only the server is running.

UPBV2 using external environment sensor request
The sensor on the UPBV2 is not the best, and I'm on my second one. All my others sensors agree closely but are different to the one supplied with the UPBV2. Please would you consider permitting an ASCOM connection to a 3rd party environmental sensor as an option? It might be something you want to al...

Re: Upbv2 and Nuc11 power issue
NUCs nominal power supply is 19V. They can operate nearer 12V but I have had cases where a current surge from other equipment has momentarily dropped the voltage to around 12V and the NUC has shut down. I now operate my NUC with a separate power supply at about 13.5 volts and it has behaved itself s...

Unity Windows Exception
For the last three nights, when I have reviewed my night's imaging, I have had a windows exception message on the screen. It appears to be from the Unity UI, possibly around graph formatting... I am not sure as it is hard to decipher. It, however, seems to have continued working through and has oper...

Re: Unity (UPB V2) response issues
Many thanks Evans, FWIW I think Dale and I reached similar solutions, our com port transmissions updated local variables and a status read uses the local variable, rather than making a fresh enquiry.

Please Read: Unity (UPB V2) response issues
I have certainly managed to improve things, by increasing the polling interval for the status read of the relays. It was originally 1 second and it is now 2 seconds. That seems to make the entire control application more responsive to form button presses. Changing back to 1 second interval makes it ...

Re: Unity (UPB V2) response issues
I have had some sleep and time to work through this. Still no joy though. My control application was already up to date with ASCOM changes but for good measure, I refreshed my development and observatory machines, recompiled and re-tested. I had already added the GetSwitchDescription method (which c...

Re: Unity (UPB V2) response issues
thanks Evans - I thought I had updated my Visual Studio ASCOM developer resources - I will double-check tomorrow. The problem is entirely repeatable, so it should be quick to establish if that is the issue. For info, I had the UI running too.
